Not all heroines wear capes and yes we’re referring to all the supermums out there!
A full-time OL, avid runner and mother all at once, Ying Tian shares her story about marathons, motherhood and more.
We know that you are a runner and have joined a number of marathons. Can you share more about your journey with us?
I started running in 2009 after my friend invited me to join Shape Run due to its value-for-money goodie bag.
It was my first 10km run which changed my life forever. I loved the adrenaline rush when crossing the finishing line.
I started joining various 10km/21km before my boyfriend (current husband) encouraged me to try my first marathon in 2011.
My first marathon was memorable with him accompanying and encouraging me throughout and we finished it in 6 hours.
I usually train by myself as I no longer have the luxury of joining running groups with my son being my top priority.
Training sessions are about 3-4 times a week, either before or after work.
How did your dressing evolve after becoming a mum?
Nothing makes me happier than dressing up and it’s a huge daily confidence booster.
My style hasn’t changed much, except I no longer run in my 6” heels.
I love chic and comfy outfits, those from Fayth has lasted me from pre-pregnancy till now!

As a breastfeeding mum, it was challenging initially finding suitable outfits for work or when bringing my son out.
I love Fayth separates (Ivanka Top + Citizens High Waisted Pants!) and shirt dresses for me to nurse and still look good.
I love how accessories – a cute bag and dangling earrings can jazz up a casual outfit easily.
Being a fashionable mum yourself, do you have any fashion tips for mums-to-be out there?
Dressing up makes you feel good no matter how tough the pregnancy can be.
Do dress your bump with cute midi dresses – 10 months will fly before you know it!

Another tip would be to throw a vest over your pants or dresses – it can transform an outfit instantly!
What’s your mantra you go by in life?
Do what you love, love what you do!
I strongly believe that life is too short for any regrets.
Go for your dreams, your passion (for your family & life) will keep you going!
